King's Lynn Consortium of Internal Drainage Boards applies a 'Drainage Rate' to all land occupiers that have agricultural land lying within the boundaries of our three Drainage Boards. This rate provides income to assist in paying for regular maintenance to be performed by the Consortium on the watercourses it maintains within our boundaries.

The rate is set annually by the Board members meeting to agree a level of essential expenditure for the coming financial year, to ensure the water carrying capacity of the drainage network is maintained or increased. This meeting is generally held in January.

Rating Software and Services: In addition to charging rates to land users, we also sell a professional rating database to other drainage boards or interested bodies, or, if purchase is not your requirement, we can undertake a confidential rate issue and collection service for you.
